Im growing onions from seeds, I planted them at the beginning of feburary and they are currently growing in a cold frame. I plan to plant them out in about a months time.
I`m wondering when would they be ready to harvest? Will I have large onions or will they take 2 years?

They would be ready towards the end of the summer when they are after falling over.

They wont be as large as from sets.

    They wont take 2 years.

You can cure them for a while when you harvest them and they can be used until nearly the spring.

I grew onions in my polytunnel from seed last year. Sowed the 1st lot of seed in plug trays at end of February and transplanted them into raised beds in the tunnel around early April and was eating them last week in July. They were a mixture of sizes from tennis ball size to a little over 2/3rd tennis ball size.
Grew 3 crops altogether and still eating some from the last crop
