Focus Mk1 Crankcase Breather Hose

    I've a 2004 mk1 Focus, 1.4 bog standard model.

The hose coming from the PCV valve is collapsing when the engine is running, I think it's a regular issue with this car. I've got a replacement hose from Ford but I'm a bit unsure whether this is something I could do easily myself or whether it's worth paying my local guy to do it.

Anyone had any experience of doing this themselves?
For completeness, it's an engine like the one below, and the hose is at the front under the manifolds.

Edit: I genuinely can't find anything specific to the 1.4 on google/youtube!

They are easy enough to do a little bit fiddly.
Just be carefull not to break the plastic bit coming from the crankcase i usually cut up along the pipe to break the seal.
Put a bit of vaseline on the pipe before you slide it into place.

Thanks, no need to take half the car apart then?! What about around the valve at the bottom, is that straightforward push on as well?

Yeah its all just pushed into place the rubber pipe gets stuck on with heat through time.
You dont need to take anything apart i would do one in five minutes but thats my job just take it easy and a bit of lube when you are putting it back on will make life a lot easier.
