Can I take this issue to court...

I'll leave company names out as issues are still pending.

I am currently suspended from work due to allegations brought against myself. I can prove that one of the allegations is a flat out lie via technology.

The accuser is a cleaner for a small private company which is sub contracted by a large company. I work for a large company which is also sub contracted by that same large company.

Am I able to take the LTD to court for defamation of character? Or will it be viewed as a "work matter" which has to be dealt with internally.

Legal advice cannot be given here. You should speak to your solicitor about the matter.

You can absolutely go to court, whether it's a good idea or not will not be answered by randomers on the internet.

If you're suspended from work, falsely accused or not you'd be very unwise not to speak to a solicitor so when you do, ask him/her this question.
