Hi my girlfriend scrapped the back of her car off a concrete column reversing out of an underground car park. Any ideas how much it would be to get fixed and any recommendations on who to go to in Lucan and surrounding areas ?

All depends how good a job you want. You could get a SMART repair on that for about €80, or a respray for about €250.

Doesn't look incredibly bad or difficult to sort.

I did something similar and Farecla G3 got it to the point where it was barely noticable. A much older car admittedly so I was never gonna spend fortunes on it, but maybe worth a go for the sake of a tenner

    ^^^^^
That scratch is beyond a rubbing compound...

Also, the panel is likely jagged now. It needs to be levelled out and flattened back. It's not a metal panel aswell, the majority of that type of car lacks metal as it happens. That's Renault for you.

You make it sound like that's a bad thing, plastics can be more forgiving to minor impact than metal and can be repaired quite easily.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the majority of that type of car lacks metal as it happens" but plastic bumpers/mouldings, front and rear are standard in nearly all modern cars. Various manufacturers use plastics to replace heavier metal non-structural components such as bonnets, tailgates, front wings & boot floors. Renault do use plastic front wings and I don't see how metal would be an advantage there.

Slimjim, I think the majority of that car is a cheap plastic, including the bonnet. In saying that though, I only ever looked at one, and I can't be arsed to read more about them. But I was surprised with the visable build quality on the one I seen.

That panel shouldn't be any more difficult to put right, yes, agreed, just saying it's beyond a rubbing compound, albeit making the point badly!

Thanks. I might email those places with some pictures and see what prices they give.
