    Hello All,

I was looking on the internet for answers but couldn't find anything concrete.

I have been to my GP recently. He referred me to the hospital to:
    a) Have a cyst on my neck removed
    b) Straighten a deviated septum (One of my nostrils is blocked)

    My question is:
Is there an average waiting time for these referrals?
Is the waiting time for some operations shorter than others?

    Thank you

We have been getting ENT appointments for a year and half from now for people referred for something similar. Don't know how long the cyst referral will be

I had to google ENT appointments :) Ear Nose and Throat.

When you say 'we' have been getting appointments, do you mean you work at a hospital?
I'm a bit confused still. You have been getting appointments for a year and a half. Are you implying that these appointments are very busy ?

    Thanks

Sorry for the abbreviation. I work in a primary care setting. The GPs have referred patients to the Ear,Nose and Throat (ENT) department and the appointment dates we are getting back are for the end of 2016.

The waiting time on operations varies hugely depending on what they are, to answer your first post. ENT would be one of the most backlogged specialities currently

you can check out cross boarder Healthcare scheme.. ph: 056 7784547
if you are on a long waiting list in irish hosptital you can travel to any EU country (including Northern Ireland)
and get your procedure done there and ireland will pay for it.
you have to pay up front and claim it back from CBH.
I had no health insurace or medical card . i was put on a waitin glist for hosital of 2yrs.
I only had to travel 1hr 45 mins to a private clininc in belfast who looked after it witin 3 weeks
