New House Electric Showers

    Hi,

My wife and I are in the final steps of buying a house... the house has 2 electric showers in it... 1 is totally broken and the other is leaking so we'd like to replace both of them.

The models on the walls are:

    Mira Elite 2
    Triton Aqua Sensation

From what I can gather I think the Mira is a Pumped Tank Fed shower? I am trying to figure out that the Triton is... is it the same thing? Am I right on the Mira also?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Fionn

Mira Elite takes low pressure cold water from the tank in the attic, instantly heats it up and has a built in pump, although not very strong..
Triton Aqua Sensation takes low pressure cold water from the tank in the attic and low pressure hot water direct from your hot water cylinder and has a good built in pump to increase the pressure.

The direct replacement would be a Mira Elite St Electric shower for the Mira Elite 2 and a Triton AS2000XT for the Aqua Sensation.

You might be able to change the Mira Elite 2 for a Triton T90z electric shower. They are a far better shower than the Mira. They give less trouble and the parts are cheaper. Also Mira use a really cheap plastic. it's turns yellow after 3or 4years

    Thanks folks,

So for the Triton Aqua Sensation does that mean there needs to be hot water in the tank or does it just mean it will use the hot water if its there otherwise heat it up?

    Sorry for ignorance.

The Aqua Sensation is not an electric shower it is a power shower. You are correct you need to heat the water first for a power shower.

If you are thinking of changing the power shower to an electric shower it is considered a new full installation. It'll set you back around 600 Euro and another 130 or so for a priority switch.
