    Hi Guys,

Can anyone let me know this?

Beside the cost of a solicitor are there fees for having a court date in the circuit court.

I am currently appealing an access order from the district court and I am unsure as the costs involved for going to the circuit court.

Has anyone been before than can give me some information on what happened with them.

I found a page on the courts website that says 15 euro per file etc but im still unsure.

    Any advice is appreciated

    Thanks

I'd hazard a guess that the €15 refers to the court fees on an affidavit. However, I'd also hazard another guess that this is not the full picture, since affidavits usually accompany other court documents and pleadings which also attract court fees.

There are a number of items which form part of legal costs. There are solicitors' fees and VAT and outlays, counsels' fees and VAT, court fees on court documents, expert reports and witness expenses.

Also, if a party to an action loses and has an award of costs made against them, they will be liable to pay the other side's legal costs in addition to their own.

What you say is usually correct, except in family law, there is no stamp duty, also cost rarely given against the losing side in family law.

You're right: I'd forgotten that we were talking about a family case.

So no court fees and costs as you say, probably.
