It's 1-3 now by the way, you gave up on this thread very easily :)

Ha computer froze. Neymar's goal was an absolute beaut.

Looking at France's team though, they've got some crop of players... if Fekir does declare for them you would very much fancy them as frontrunners for the Euros and beyond

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

Very close from Fekir, lovely bit of play from Kondogbia as well.

Colombian beat Bahrain in a friendly early. This must be the only country where lots of people where actually wearing their jerseys for such an irrelevant game.

Surprised that Iran beat Chile 2-0. Well done to them! Carlos Queiroz must be doing a great job with them.

I'd say they play together a whole lot more than Chile and that effect can't be understated

Queiroz resigned recently effective end of march.
He cited "internal pressures" as his reason. Strange considering he had signed a long term deal only recently. Almost missed this game due to not being aloud leave Iran for tax evasion which wasnt even his fault. He was eventually reconnected with the players a day later after catching a later flight. All things considered he is getting good results in what seems a very tough working enviroment.

Didn't know any of that. Sounds absolutely mental. You couldn't pay me enough to work in a country like that.

Euro qualifiers kick off tonight. Matches tonight all kicking off at 19:45:

    Slovakia vs Luxembourg
    Macedonia vs Belarus
    Liechtenstein vs Austria
    Switzerland vs Estonia
    Slovenia vs San Marino
    Montenegro vs Russia
    Moldova vs Sweden
    England vs Lithuania
    Spain vs Ukraine

    Ones to watch

I think the pick of the international friendlies will be Brazil vs. Chile which will be played in the Emirates on Sunday at 15:00.

Will be watching England vs. Lithuania tonight, be interesting to see if Kane starts and who will be on the flanks.

Is the england match only on ITV tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,951 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Theres something seriously wrong with Roy Hodgson. One of the most on form players in world footballer, ah I'll bench him for Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney.

Akinfeev hit by a flare in Montenegro, match suspended.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

Idiots to say the least. Flares need to be banned, you just can't trust the general public.

ETA: O.G in England game... England 2, Lithunania 0.
Danny with the header then a richochet into goal

Fastest scoring debut for an England player?

    Theo swoops onto the pitch.

Fastest scoring debut for an England player

I wouldn't say there's been many quicker in international football.

Fairly feisty Brazil-Chile match so far. Medel scummily stamping on Neymar the worst.

ITV can only show England and one other game that does not include Ireland, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland each match day.

Sky have the rights to every game apart from the England game and what ever game ITV choose

NI really giving a great go at the Finns here. Had a gilt edged chance just there. Expect them to score soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,515 ✭✭✭✭briany

Scots just went ahead again. Not making it an easy game on themselves, though.

Ridiculous challenge in the box by Gibraltar. Penalty.

    3-1 Scotland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

1-0 to NI. Kyle Lafferty with a nice volley. I think maybe it's the Finns who don't like to work on Sunday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Header by Lafferty. 2-0.
