    I'm in a bit of bother :(

    I've just lost my only key for my 2005 nissan micra. I emailed around a few garages in wexford and wicklow (i'm based in wexford) and the best price I can get is 220 euro for a key cut and programmed. Does anybody know of any places that would do it cheaper i.e in dublin or surronding areas, or of any places that I could get one cut with a locksmith?

    I'm not really knowlageable with cars so I'm not sure why it needs to be programmed (I assume its for the electrics opening the other 3 doors) but would it be possible just to get a key cut without it being programmed and it still work to start the car?

    Thanks::(:):)

    That's how much a key costs for a modern car.

    That's why it only came with 1 key.... somebody lost the spare and wouldn't fork out for a new one.

    even a 2000 mark 4 fiesta key will cost you €100-150 euro

    Possibly try a main dealer. They might be able to order a preprogrammed key cheaper. A toyota dealer did this for a 96 corolla at one stage for a friend

    Check your insurance cover. On my comprehensive policy one of the benefits is key replacement.
