Hi all.............just wondering if anyone could give me any good recommendations on books specifically about the " Victim Mentality" . I have come across aspects of it in "scripts People live" by C. Steiner and Eric Berne " Games People Play" but looking for a little more than this.
    Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm not sure what is meant by this.

Do you mean somebody who believes themselves to be passive in the world, a victim of fate or external events? They may have an external locus of control.

Do you mean somebody who feels unable to deal with conflict? They may lack assertiveness skills.

Do you mean somebody who avoids taking on any challenges and responsibilities? They may be an avoidant personality.

All these things can be overcome. But the person may not want to; it may feel more comfortable to them to continue as they are, than to change.

I guess I mean someone who falls into resignation quite easily. Who fails to be assertive and act when it would be wiser for them to do so. Who accepts there predicament too readily in a passive manner when what they really need to do is to find and assert their own strength. And, yes, perhaps this is difficult to overcome but the victim is willing to try and overcome this.
