    Hi,

How are respites calculated in Ireland?

We have a contract using a phrasing which foresees a respite of "failing within 10 working days" .

When does the respite end if it has started on 16 March 2015?

    Thanks,
    Jörn.

Sorry could you clarify what you mean? Do you mean days off?

It's 24 hours in any 7 day period preceded by 11 hours. There is an additional provision allowing periods over 14 days.

I'll pop up the Organisation of Working Time Act a bit later if I get a chance.

    Hi,

    The main point is:

Which days are counted as "working days"? I also saw the term "business days" flying around.

Are "working days" Mon-Fri or Mon-Sat?

    Thanks,
    Jörn.

Dunno that's a question for your HR department as it's not an issue for the legislation.
