Probably been done before, But would be interested to see everyone's choices.

Using this standard 4-3-3 formation list out the team that you think would be the best in the world right now (Last 12 months).

    Kompany? Jaysssssssssis!

    Neuer
    Lahm---Godin--Silva--Azpilicueta
    Busquets

    Modric
    Pogba
    Robben----Messi
    Ronaldo

Something like that. Lahm at RB is dubious seeing as he only kinda plays there now. I'd still have Busquets any day over Matic.

I'm pretty sure the Matic was there to see if anyone would notice, lol. The guy can't even play football when compared to proper players in that role. 90% destroyer 10% player. As demonstrated v PSG when 90% played off the park.

Kompany was in great form aside from this PL season!

He's in poor form now but still one of the best IMO. Put Lahm in goal and I'd still be confident he'll perform well. Busquets scummy behaviour puts me off him.

Seems wrong to be leaving Suarez, Neymar, Modric or Schweinsteiger out but there we are.

Neuer, Ronaldo and Messi are clearly the 3 that should be in every team.

Your own criteria specify last 12 months, he's been in "poor form" for at least that now.
Busquets scummy behaviour puts me off him.
Doesn't have an impact on "best" though, and he's pretty much stopped that now. It's not the same peeking tom Busquets against Inter any more.

Good team that, very close to mine. I went for Modric over Kroos based on their Madrid time, I think he's been a bit better. Kroos was amazing at the WC though. Don't like Ivanovic, his goalscoring masks massive defensive deficiencies, and the Chelsea fans seem to vouch for that here.

Also, everyone with Lahm at FB does know that he doesnt play there anymore? Hes played a handful of games there for Bayern and Germany since Pep shifted him to CDM.

Ok we get it you don't think Kompany is good, he has not been in poor form for 12 months now but regardless "your" in the thread title is in caps for a reason.

Again, It's MY XI and Busquets would not be in it.

Aye, But he can still play FB same way Messi doesn't play CF often, he can still play there and be effective.

There doesn't seem to be an oustanding candidate for the RB position. The other ones quoted Lahm and Azpilicueta rarely actually even play those positions. Even Zabaleta crossed my mind. It is definitely the weakest of the 11 positions to choose.

No I expected Critique but I put in YOURS in the hopes that people wouldn't be going "hahahaha the state of that team, your such an idiot he's sh1t etc" Because then it just starts stupid arguments and the thread gets locked, not uncommon around here.

I know that's not what you did btw but laughing at Kompany's inclusion seems a bit unjust as he is still a WC defender

Leichsteiner (sp) is one of the best candidates and even hes more of a WB for Juve in their system, he'd be my choice anyway.

    Messi,
    Ronaldo,

Lahm, is the only position I'm stuck for options. Can't really think of right backs. Alves has been on good form for Barcelona of late but not really good enough for a world eleven. Ivanovic has dipped in form of late. When Madrid were on fire carvajal was a shoe in.

Probably better than throwing people in who go on reputation.

Maybe people don't watch the Italian league etc etc. I wouldn't have 1 player in that league except maybe Pogba. Mostly because I don't watch it enough. Just asked my friend who watches Italian and knows a lot about it said Vidal is having an average season, nothing special.

Everyones can have their opinion, but I'd be curious to know how many times people actually watch these other leagues rather than just the CL game.

    Neuer
    Lichtsteiner, Godin, Cheillini, Alaba
    Pogba, Schweingstiger, Kroos
    Messi, Suarez, Ronaldo

Neuer, Ronaldo, Messi and Kroos pick themselves. Godin has had an absolutely amazing year for Atletico, and Chiellini is the leader of an exceptionally good Juventus defense.

Schweinstiger & Pogba were not only brilliant at the world cup, but in every game I've seen with Bayern & Juve. The full backs were the area where I struggled the most. I would have went for Felipe Luis if he could have continued on his Atletico performances, but he hasn't had a look in at Chelsea. He genuinely looked like the best LB out there for a long stretch last season. At RB, Lichtsteiner is a warrior and part of that very solid Juve unit. Even though I don't like Suarez's antics, he was great for Liverpool and has found his feet now at Barcelona.

It's got to be Messi and Ronaldo with either Robben or Suarez IMO. There is a clear gap there. I suppose Neymar has a claim but I wouldn't say its a great claim either.

Seeing as people are putting Lahm as a LB, and Kane can't get in as a ST.

I'll throw my GK vote to Kane after his splendid display that 1 time :pac:
