I'm getting married abroad, location not set yet, Spain, Croatia, Italy have been mentioned. I'm planning on 3 groomsmen, what are the thoughts on suits for this climate.

normal hire suits in ireland and travel with them

more laid back linen or similar material suits bought and travel with

hire abroad, don't know if this is feasible, will be different in different locations

    other opinions.

Any feedback is great guys, thanks

I'd go with a lighter linen suit if it goes with the style of your day. I was at a wedding in Portugal where the wedding party wore traditonal morning suits and the lot of the them looked like they were fit to pass out from the heat!

    Definitely go with linen!!
Depending on the venue you pick, I'd scout out if any suit hire available there.
Ask the venue / wedding planning you'll be dealing with.
More thank likely there will be, and it'll probably be cheaper than here.
You'll probably be around the area before the wedding so can get sized up beforehand - get the sizes of the others in mind and have them booked in... if they can arrive in a day or so beforehand for sizing, even better.

If it is going to be the height of summer you should consider ditching the suit and instead wearing just slacks and nice shirt, You'll end up looking a little ridiculous sweating in a full suit on a hot day. Waistcoats instead of jackets are also popular for weddings in hot climates. It might also be a good idea to relax the dress code for your guests as they won't want to be suffering from heat exhaustion in wool suits.

If you do go with suits, linen or seersucker would be the best fabrics.
