Get a NG - 1/2" female bsp hydro dare fitting. Then screw a 1/2" 311 into it to take the qualpex

    Use 3/4 x 1/2 310.

A polyadaptor will work with your suggestion. You would have a better fitting anyway.

No. The poly adaptor that goes into the compression fitting

I never once had a failure with them, they are in all the sheds with years supplying the water troughs.

I've had several failures with them. Dreadful fittings. I wouldn't use one if I got it for free.

A properly made connection is bullet proof.

I'm plumbing 18 years and I've seen dozens leak. I've never heard a real plumber say they'd use them either. Mostly diyers and farmers

You seem to be basing your opinion on other peoples work, form your own opinion. Have you personally used them and had leaks afterwards?

I used one in my mothers when I was an apprentice. And yes it leaked. One of many. It's very bad copper in them

I cant fault them, must be over 100 connections in the sheds, all done by me. They are there over 10 years anyway. Installation would have close to 3 bar.

Back ten years ago they were actually fairly decent. But the pollys you get now are a complete waste of time.
