Skoda Octavia Bonnet Release Handle

Was going to top up the window washer reservoir yesterday but when I went to pull the bonnet release handle it came off in my hand! Tried to re-fix but no joy. On closer inspection the handle incorporate plastic splines which fit over a small metal cog like wheel which operates the cable release mechanism. These plastic splines have worn down over time and now will not engage onto the small cog wheel. Was very surprised at this set up especially by germans!... it was always going to fail sooner rather than later. My question is : Is there any other way of opening the bonnet until I can get the handle replaced. Thanks in advance to any advice given.

Had same issue handle would fall off sometimes and eventually wore down.

Go to a skids garage they aren't expensive just had to wait till next day.

Give them a call you never know they may have one.

Superglue could be and option but may make trouble when replacing with new.

Press handle into holder as hard as possible as you pull towards you.
