    So I came across this ad on adverts recently and had a good chuckle at the comments;
    Hi would you take €1400 cash today ?

    Usually I'd give a very offensive answer to a pathetic offer like that

    And this gem
    Is this a seven seater

    It is the only 7 seat Xtrail 2006 ever built
    I'm eagerly awaiting your next ridiculous question

    ....
    Could you not weld 2 seats in the boot for me?

    The issue I have with adverts is that someone can flick through ads with low ball offers, which waste your time and effort. Also, the offense and language used by some when you don't accept a packet of Tayto and an Xbox is astounding. Also, its a terrible platform for bartering as once you accept an offer, even if that person never comes back, you're stuck with it. With cars, this can be a nightmare as if you pass an NCT or fix an issue in the meantime, the value of the car increases. But Joe Public doesn't see this.

    @Adverts, you really have to introduce a feature where you can elect not to entertain or accept posts & offers from those without feedback of a certain level.

    That is the biggest issue, in my opinion.

    That X-Trail linked to in the OP's post, for example, has an asking of €3,950, but an accepted offer of €3,750.

    As far as most people will ever be concerned, the asking price is now €3,750 and will haggle from there (I know I would). It's a pretty big issue.

    Items listed in the motoring section should have the ability to PM without making offers.
