Plant crafts facebook pages?

    Hey all

So I have a facebook page set up and on it are crafts with plants, ie:

    - Glass terrariums of different sizes
    - Various plants in snail and oyster shells
    - Specialised plants that grow without roots in glass jars
    - Some plant jars with a white paint design drawn on the glass

So anyway I just wanted to ask ye if ye would recommend any facebook groups where it'd be ok to post photos of them. I've had little luck looking them up myself (just some of those buy & sell pages). Alot of the art and craft fb pages don't allow the type of crafts that I'm involved in.

So if ye have any ideas or know of any art/crafts pages both in Ireland and abroad that would allow what I do that'd be great. Or even recommended websites, forums (gardening forum?) etc would be welcome.

I'd post photos but I'm a new user and posting the link would probably get me banned!

    Hi neenam,

Your work sounds quite interesting. Have you considered posting to your personal facebook page? If you are selling them you could create a simple WordPress blog to get the word out and display your photos there. I would also recommend making a Pinterest account where you can display all your plant crafts. Like minded people will then be able to find you easily.

    I hope these recommendations help.

    Would Etsy allow them?

If you are selling live plants, they may have restrictions that you are only allowed to sell them in Ireland. Etsy charges a small fee per item for sale that must be renewed each month. I apologize as I haven't been on etsy in ages. It used to be only ten cents a product, but I am no longer sure. I learned the hard way when I was creating small carvings from shed antlers (no animals were killed) and customs took them as their rules about selling animal parts are extremely strict. They are even stricter with living plants.

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

It's in it's early days but I could look into it, was thinking of weebly or wix but if you think wordpress is best, fair enough. I actually have a pinterest account, but I'd want to have an account that only had pins of the work without all the crap I have in my personal one. Wasn't thinking about selling tbh but if someone saw something that interested them I would definitely make one up for them - more for showing off really haha.

Yea seen people just selling plants they grew themselves on it. I'm sorta doing a craftier version of that.

I was in touch with someone I bought a plant off of from the states. It did say on her etsy page that shipping was only within N. America but I messaged her about shipping it here and she was ok with that. I believe that a license is needed for shipping certain things abroad.

As I said above I don't see myself getting so involved that I would be selling items abroad. But if it did come to that I might just say shipping only within here and the uk, shure it'll be grand like.

Boards won't like me edit my post but I meant to say that she told me that she didn't say there were plants in the parcel on the customs form as she wasn't sure about the regulations on exporting plants abroad.

your antler carving work sounds very interesting btw, what deer did they come from?

I used to live on an island in British Columbia, Canada. The deer were right plentiful so antlers were easy to find. :)
When you get everything set up, please post your site/image links here. I would be delighted to follow you.

Wishing you continued fun and success!
