Hi,I have my heart set on a cream stove that will fit in beautifully with a design I have in mind for a small room. It's a free standing stove in a recessed chamber.
I love the idea of how it will look in the room but am worried about the practicality of a cream stove. Anyone out there have one?
I have my eye on a Mendip 5 ivory (enamel), but have heard they can chip easily.
Would appreciate people's experience with light coloured stoves.
    Am I mad??!?Thanks

    Hi Pucaban,

We have a cream stove and have been using it for about eight years. It isn't enamel so can't speak about chipping, but otherwise I love it and it has kept very well. In saying that we don't tend to burn coal in it. We buy the 'wooden briquettes' or occasionally briquettes and it has held up very well. Delighted we went with it and much prefer the look to the darker stoves. I would say think carefully about what u are going to burn it....hope that's of some help! Good luck 😄

Thanks Bobbins - Really good to hear that :-)
Can I ask what make / model stove you have and what material it's made of please ?

We have two Stanley Oisin stoves in cream enamel for about 3 years now and have had absolutely no problems with them.

Firstly they are incredibly efficient and radiate fantastic heat from both timber or more often stove coal (i use the ecotherm brand), mind you i have nothing to compare them to except an open fire.

Secondly we have had no issues with chipping or marking. I must admit i am careful when loading or cleaning and if hot coals land on the enamel i remove immediately and wipe with wet cloth (otherwise it marks and is difficult to remove).

Any more questions please gimme a shout...

We have a cream Stanley (I think it's a Tara) for over 2 years now and it's perfect, no issues with marks or chips, the surface is very easy to wipe over with a damp cloth too, no hassle whatsoever.

    Hi Pubacan,

It's a 4kw Charnwood Stove, matt finish, 'almond' colour. I would imagine it is made of steel of some description, sorry, it's a long time since we bought it! Think the model is a 'Cove 2'...hope that helps, good luck with your decision 😊
