Fox has bought, and sent straight to series, the 10-episode supernatural crime drama Houdini and Doyle.
The project is inspired by the real-life friendship between the illusionist and the author famous for bringing life to Sherlock Holmes.
In the series — from writers David Titcher (The Librarians) and David Hoselton (House) and executive producer David Shore (creator of the Sherlock-esque House) — Houdini (who believes in nothing) and Doyle (who believes in everything) grudgingly team up to investigate supernaturally tinged crimes.

hmm yes the recent Houdini mini series Conan Doyle features alot , if i remember in that show they were correspondence acquaintances and then they had a bitter falling out over the paranormal.

Yup, Adrien Brody as Houdini. Doyle was a complete sucker for seances, fairies and ghosts. Houdini knew how to make the impossible possible. They were never going to see eye to eye.

I know it is borderline necro but the show is now up to episode 3 and this is very much how it feels like to be honest. Not the strongest plot or series (it's Fox after all) but watchable as distraction tv so far in a combination of Elemental (trio instead of duo) and original X-files (supernatural elements/hints, one person being a believer and the second one being doubter, hints of there might being something etc.).
