Well there is a 'stop' sign there so that would over rule the 'yield' that is painted on the road in my opinion.

Yield as basically a filter lane, if cars coming stop and wait for gap, if not carry on. wouldn't be stopping if no traffic!

Strictly speaking, if there's a stop sign there you should stop. There's plenty of visibility there and with the conflicting signs it would be pretty harsh to get done for just yielding

It is against the rules of the road to drive past a stop sign without actually coming to a complete stop so toy would have to stop in that situation.

Better to stop I think, in my truck lessons I rolled past a stop sign, there was good visibility obviously, I was barely moving and went to drive on, the instructor went mental at me!
He asked me what that sign said, I said stop, and he asked why I didn't stop then:o

stop at the sign then yield at the line :D

Yield. Sign should be at the other side, as anyone using the road will be looking to their right there, to yield to oncoming traffic, and not see the stop sign.

And that's if the tree isn't blocking the sign :P

Stop....but I don't think I've ever done that at that junction unless theres something coming, in which case I'm yielding.....

I always stop at it cause there's a stop sign. I work on the principle that a new looking Stop sign trumps a worn out bit of paint on the road. Typical slack job by a council though and shows how good our law enforcement officers are as it's right outside their door and no one ever stops at it.

Don't pedestrians and crazy cyclists come from the right or do they not count? If you can't see a Stop sign on a road you should get your eyes checked or just stop driving.
