It's due to arrive at 1325.
    Departing at 1635.

If you do miss it ( I will, unfortuantely ) there are usually a couple of ETH 787s passing westbound over Ireland in the early morning light this season.

Not quite the same, I confess...

Is the 787 being used to introduce the route only or will it return in the summer?

As above this is scheduled as an B787. This is the first scheduled B787 for DUB and this visit will allow some ground trials. I assume they will push the PR end of things too

They seem to be doing quite a bit of PR. They were in Trinity sponsoring some St Patricks Day events.

May be worth double checking the timings as I've just been told there's a PR event late morning - I'll see what I can find out

They are still the confirmed times. Currently due to be parked on stand 305

PR event may well commence without the aircraft, arrival could be part of the event. 1325/1635 is the scheduled timing

PR event is going to be held in Platnium Services/VIP area. A hundred or so journalists, executives and so on.

The flight is scheduled in for the timings I posted above; as mentioned by someone the PR event has no bearing on this.

Will be great to see Ethiopian in Dublin, especially a 787.

Is it the first EVER visit of a 787 to DUB or just the first scheduled visit?

First scheduled, Boeing had their world tour 787 in before and Norwegian had a couple in too

A 787 has visited Dublin before; I think the first time was for an Aircraft Financing/Leasing conference in Dublin back in 2012. Not sure if there has been one back in Dublin since.

Norwegian flew a 787 into Dublin on a few occasions apparently: August 2013, March, May and June 2014. I think in most cases these were delivery flights from Everett, USA, onwards to Scandinavia.

I remember a few new Noewegian 787s coming to DUB to get their tails painted.

And the Boeing tour too, ofc.

Another one just out of the paint shop in Seattle without its tail done, anyone know if this will be done in Dublin ?

By year end we may have two scheduled 787 flights

Are Ethiopian still planning on doing the Addis Ababa > Dublin > LAX route?

I'm going to guess Yes.....what with it being on the DAA summer schedule, bookable on their website and with the PR event tomorrow featuring their B787 for a visit.

As above. Boeing ZA003 was in for 2-3 days in 2012 as part of a world leasing conference. And we have had 4-5 Norwegian B787's in for tail painting.
Tomorrow's arrival could be viewed as a special charter while the start of the route in June (?) will be the 1st scheduled B787 service to /from DUB.

does the fact that its on the Dublin airport arrivals , along with being allocated a terminal and a baggage belt on the app, mean that there will be passengers on this flight ??

I would guess that they may have some ET officials and journo's onboard.

Is that flight normally a B772? Perhaps using the B787 is a sub just to alow the short hop to DUB?

Ethiopian have it down as a 788 on their website for the LHR flight.

I have a feeling they mix and match, a bit like Kenyan airways and Arik, so it may be either but it should be a 787 tomorrow.

Flight radar departure board is also showing it as a 777L operating to LHR.

Finally found out it is a 787 reg,ET-ASG.

Hi there. I work for DAA and I am making a short video of the arrival of the Ethopian Dreamliner today. If there is anybody filming the incoming flight could they let me know? I will be at the reception and can't be in both places at the same time . Footage of the arrival/landing would be a great addition to the finished piece. In return i may be able to provide some in plane footage.
    Thanks

A very evil person in here suggested that we change to runway 16 10 minutes before landing.

That would upset a lot of people judging by the number of cars parked along the road near the mound!!

Will this still leave at 16.35 or is there a chance it will be delayed. Didn't make it over for the landing and would love to see it.

They don't have much leeway to delay the return, needs to be replenished and boarding by 19:00.

Latest I could see them departing is 17:00 and even that is dicey, as they'll hit a bank of Heathrow arrivals from the east.

Edit: though it is Ethiopian and they might just tell their Addis passengers to lump it! Looks like ETH701 hasn't gone out on time all week so a few mins here and there wouldn't be an issue...

Was thinking the same about the Heathrow departure. I'll head over and hopefully catch it.
