100% in agreement. i read this this morning - finding the level of animal cruelty in this country very alarming... animal cruelty on any level is totally unacceptable but every day on facebook more and more very disturbing images / stories emerging....what is wrong with these people??

IMO, people are getting nastier and nastier. Almost seems to be a competition as to who can be the nastiest/most cruel/most extreme. It's not just animal cruelty, but seems to be everywhere...

Mahatma Gandhi once said: “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”

“It is now understood that childhood cruelty to animals is an important predictor of later antisocial and aggressive acts and that children showing these behaviours, without intervention, are at risk for enduring disorders in conduct and mental health” (Becker & French, 2004).

    From what've I've seen I would concur.

When a cat was shot dead on love hate, thousands complained to RTE, yet there was no similar level of complaint about graphically depicting people being raped and murdered, in fact it was celebrated as great entertainment.

Why do they even bother asking for info - nothing is going to happen? Saw on FB earlier - a bag of pups and rabbits was left outside a rescue here in Dublin and run over before anyone could get to it :( and they're also asking for information.

This is exactly it, even if they do catch the culprit (which they rarely do), nothing ever bloody happens to them, so what's the point?!!

I just really despair at the cruelty people can show an animal. The mind boggles it really does. How can anyone actually even think about doing something so cruel not to mention following through on such an act. What is this world coming to. Jesus wept. Does it ever end.
