How to access old golfnet data

    Hi all,

I am moving club and I wish to access my Golfnet data. However, it seems that the GUI and Golfnet have updated the site and there are different log in creditentials. Is there anyway that I can access the old golfnet data to print off my handicap cert? My last GUI card was issued in 2013 and I was not issued with a new one in 2014 (I believe there was an updated card out this year). My card worked fine for the whole of 2014 and I could access golfnet right up to Oct/Nov time but now I cannot.

Furthermore, I did not rejoin my old club in 2015 so im concerned that the lag between then and now(3 months) will require me to go the 3 cards route again which is a bit of a pain in the ass.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this helps you but I couldn't log on to Golfnet a few weeks ago (I had previously been on it for the last few years with no breaks) and had to set up my account again using my GUI number and the PIN that's on the back of my card. When I did this all the old data was still there.

    Thanks Russman, were you issues with a new GUI card in 2014? I tried to create a new account following the instructions on the new site but it did not recognise my GUI number. I think this is due to 1 of 2 reasons;

    1. I was not issued a new GUI card in 2014 ( I believe they were updated in this year)
    2. My old club have now cut me over between my membership ceasing in 2014 and now (i.e. the last 3 months).

    No worries.

I honestly can't remember when I got the new card. I'd be guessing that it was in 2014, I know I was injured from the November to the May and didn't play at all or go up to the club, so it was either pre-Nov 2013 or post-Jun 2014. It still looks fairly new so I'm going with post-Jun 2014.

It was only when I couldn't log on recently that I actually looked at the card and saw there was also a PIN number on the back of it (in addition to my GUI number) that I didn't remember seeing on previous cards. I had to enter this PIN when re-creating my account.

Maybe the GUI could give you this PIN if you called them ? or your old club ?

I can't imagine you needing to do the whole 3 cards thing again.

Thanks Russman, I contacted both the club and GUI so hoping to get a response on this soon. Hopefully not the whole 3 cards again, although it'd be an interesting decision for them to try handicap me if I had to hand in 3 cards as I'm a category 1 golfer. Say I had 3 bad rounds, then it would be interesting.

Everyone got a new card last year it's white sponsored by aig. There should be one in your club.

Not sure how it works with Cat 1 but I'm sure the club/gui would ask for your last known HC, when that was from, and promptly rip up your 95,97,99 :)

Think you have 6 months before you have to return 3 cards.

Cheers Parlance, I'm happy to say its been a while since any of my scores started with a 9 but a run of 3 bad rounds in the 80's would be possible.

If its 6 months then it should be ok. When they transfer over my handicap to a new club, will they transfer all the data/scores from my old club? It will be a new gui number so hopefully they can transfer all the data from the old GUI number and club.

The 6 months isn't set in stone but I think it's common pratice afaik.

I've just moved recently myself, couldnt access golfnet either but I had a screenshot from last Oct and sent that to the new club. Had no cuts since then.

Do you have access to howdido? You could send your new club a screenshot of that?
