Replacing set of 4 michelins in next couple of weeks.Would consider continentals but wondering what they are currently like for typical wear in average driving .had a set on passat about 6 years ago-pre the conti sport 3 and conti sport 5.Very comfortable tyre but wore quickly -about 14000 miles.Anyone know how current ones fare?

I had them on my mondeo and the wore within 10k miles... replaced them with michelen pilot sport 3's... found them to be far better, especially in the wet and last a heck of alot longer.

Had sport contacts on my FR from new, they didn't last long. Same with a buddies VRS. They weren't even all that grippy considering but the main problem was road noise - they are noisy buggers. I wouldn't buy them again.

Had Conti Sport 5 on my vRS and they didn't last long as I would have hoped. Have changed to UniRoyal Rainsport 3s.

I just put conti sport 5s on my car on place of Bridgestone Torness and I'm majorly disappointed with the difference.

Grip is much worse and I've lost all confidence with the car at any moderate speed when cornering when it's wet.

I'd avoid them. I'll be heading back to Bridgestones after this

Tanks for replies.Yeah the continentals appear overated and I think ill be getting an upgrade on my michelin primacy to michelin pilot sports.Theyve done me 28000 miles and im not going to be switching to continentals with that info.Wors e wear grip and noise and at 140 a corner?no thanks.Remember hearing that Garda cars had contract with them-could have chosen better,by all accounts.

If longevity is your primary concern you should get the Primacy 3 not Pilot Sport 3.
