Hi, hope this isn't a stupid question.

I was out of work for a few months in 2013 and had the old social welfare card (the one with just PPS no. and name on it); I just lost my job 6 weeks ago so have had to submit a claim for JSA and have been advised my first payment will be this week.

I understand a new social welfare card with photo has been introduced since then so Im wondering will the post office still accept the old one when I go in there this week.

    Thanks in advance.

Most of us still have the old style card ,you shouldn't have any issues with your card when collecting your payment ,just bring photo ID just in case your asked for it

They will indeed, the new card is being rolled out slowly by the department. Your grand.
