Parking for 6 days near Dublin Port

Is it possible to park at the Clongriffin Park and Ride for a few days?

I don't want to risk the ferry port car park - there was only 1 space left when I got there at 8 am last year. Probably be nothing when I arrive at 1pm.

Was also thinking of parking at Connolly Station and catching a bus to the port?

Maybe free on-street parking near the ferry port?

    Not sure what to do

Buses to the ferry port aren't great. There is a special from Heuston and Busaras twice a day while the 53 from Talbot Street gets you there but it's only once an hour. The Luas isn't much use; it only serves the Point, a long walk away from the port itself.

For the price of 6 days parking you'd actually have the return taxi trip from Clongriffin paid for, assuming you live or have access to parking there. Failing that, Connolly is a good priced and located option.

There is no free, on street parking near the port. It is too near town for that. Everywhere in close proximity to the port, will charge for parking, unless you have a residents parking permit. However, the suburbs of Fairview and Clontarf aren't too far away. They would have free on street parking, that you don't need a permit for. A taxi to the port from there, wouldn't cost all that much. They are also far less dodgier areas in general, so the odds of your car being 100% intact when you get back to it, are much better.

Plenty of free onstreet in east wall but you'd be as well walking from the Luas

My advice (as a former East Wall resident, and very familiar with area) would be to use the 53 bus from Talbot Street - the 12:00 departure will get you to the port for about 12:25.

You could come in by public transport from wherever you live.

Alternatively, park on West Road in East Wall (limitless free parking, except on GAA match days) and get the 53 from there - around 6 mins after departure time from city centre.

(note: the outbound 53 towards the Ferry Port runs North to South along West Road, so you need to wait at one of the stops on the residential side of the road, as opposed to the railway embankment side).
