Them Aldi/Lidl ads: have you taken the Aldi challenge? Followed by some family declaring that they can't tell the difference, and in fact in some cases, found the Aldi food better!

Well I've tried on a few occasions, and found the food to be quite inferior. Maybe they do get some good quality fresh food in, but I'd say 95% of what they get is quite $hite.

When certain food items go from being good for you, to bad for you, to good for you again.

    Take rice cakes.

Always hailed as the dieter's dream, they're now apparently woefully bad for you.

And fruit juice. Cartons claims they're part of your 5 a day, but if you drink juice, even the "Not from Concentrate" variety, it's now apparently not good for you.

Vegetables are good for you>Boiling vegetables is not good. Steaming's better.

Drinking wine is good for your heart >Drinking wine increases your risk of cancer.

Eating brown bread is good for you> Eating brown bread is as bad as eating white. Make your own bread.

Drinking diet drinks are good for you as they're sugar-free/caffeine free, etc> Drinking diet drinks is bad for you as it increases your longing for sugar and you'll end up eating more.

Switch to sweetener/sugar-free varieties of food to cut out sugar from your diet> Sweeteners cause cancer, especially aspartame.

Switch to low-fat butters and spreads to reduce your cholesterol> Butter is now better as it's natural.

    You get the picture.
    When will this bullsh*t end?
    What's good and what's not?
    Who knows!

Tomorrow, fried breakfasts could be the answer to all our obesity problems and kale will be the cause of heart attacks.

Fcukwit and friends next door woke us at 4.30 coming back wasted. Listening to some young wan traipsing up and down the stairs in heels makes me wish she'd take a fricking tumble down the stairs. It's 10.30 and they're still fricking going strong. Not drink or they'd have passed out by now. Fricking 30 years old or as near as damn it, so they're old enough to grow the fcuk up and stop acting like teenagers.

Irish water protestors putting protest notices on lamp posts, the bloody things are everywhere and they don't bother to take them down. Why in the hell is Sinn Fein behind most of it? The shinners are getting too much of a grip on my town for my liking, it's not healthy or helpful either.

If you don't agree with gender quotas for politicians then you must be sexist. There are other reasons why people think they're a bad idea.

As a woman I've never agreed with positive discrimination. We all know about the glass ceiling, but jobs should be filled by the most qualified person. Employing/promoting a woman based on gender diminishes her abilities and achievements and is quite patronising.

That's the thing about decorating, from a distance it seems like a great idea, once you start though it's a whole other ball game. All the masking off and white work and painting, and before that you've to choose a colour. We have 6 different sample shades on our bedroom wall since last Summer and we still haven't found one we like. Am gonna have to find a colour I can live with soon or I'll go mad looking at the patches of colour. Oh, pulling furniture around, how could I have forgotten what a joy that it?:(

Back North of the border? I think you need to look up your history & the founding of Sinn Fein.

People parked in bus lanes with their hazard lights flashing, which means they have an immediate licence to park there, which in turn is the right to force cyclists into main stream traffic in rush hour when they suddenly swing their drivers door open without checking the traffic properly. Stoopid woman nearly killed me doing that recently. For some reason it was all my fault?!?!?!

    Country and Irish music.

Me too with regard to the latter. I can't understand why country and irish music (that is Mike Denver, Derek Ryan, all them type of fellas) has the following it does. It is easily the worst music I ever heard. It has one leg in boybandland and the other in paddywhackeryland with a blatant disregard for real country music. I prefer to call it boyfolk than country and irish.

Perhaps, the only song as annoying as bad Irish country ones is Trumpets by Jason Derulo. That song and its horrid video are the most annoying cheese I ever heard this side of Mike Denver. Now, what would really be my worst nightmare would be a country and irish boyfolk cover of it!

I guess poor music is the result of the conveyor belt of here today gone tomorrow songs, bands and artists. The personal touch and genuine topics that made older songs and artists much more substantial is lacking in most modern pop acts and Irish country singers. Dancing, fashion parading, the video, etc. often come before the song and the performance is as much about the act as it is about the song. And it shows!

I think these Irish Water protesters can be very offputting and are not doing their cause any good with their attitudes sometimes. The main issue I have with them is not their protest but that it has become the a springboard for any opportunistic politician to use to further their careers. We have been jaded by politics and politicians over the last 7 years and I don't believe in any of them anymore. Ruth Coppinger, Paul Murphy, etc. are all self styled Socialist Republicans who would justify supporting the very parties they give out about if they were needed to make up numbers for a government. Make no mistake about it: these people's aims are furthering their own careers in the very flawed and imperfect profession of politics.
