:confused::confused: hi guys need your help once again

Got the petrol pump and all worked fine for the past month until today when i filled up at petrol station. I put about €37 in petrol in to my car and the dial went to the top to indicate that i can a full tank :D but seconds later the dial went to the bottom to say complete empty tank :confused::confused: and a orange light flashing.

My mate the original mechanic said leave it a few days and it may correct itself.

Fiat Dealership said pay €65 (150 really) to look at it

I went to another independant mechanic and he said I may need the fuel pump adjusted or a good run over a steep speed bump could also help.

I have paid over the odds for this piece of **** car now and i know i have been done over by the original seller (donedeal) lesson learned and i have had to fork out at least €1000 since buying it. ($1680) 04 panda. I cant afford to pay or lose this car:(:(:(:(:(

    Thats some attitude....

Get the damned pump. They dont last forever. Its half an hour to change it.

Forget Fiat dealerships, the most are rubbish to get work done.

    That's minimal hardship by comparison

He has changed it. Now it needs adjusting according to a mechanic as the fuel level is reading wrong

Would that not be more like the sensor that reads the fuel level?

Chances are it could be a dud pump. We got one new in 04, not a kick from it. Faulty pump.

If its new it needs exchanged asap

Any idea why irt would work fine and then not? also is there any damage being donr driving it a round? I filled the tank to max today.

If the car is driving fine but the gauge is reading empty (despite you filling up the tank) then it's just the fuel level sender that's at fault.
This is part of the Fuel Pump (or at least it's part of the assembly). If you still have have your old pump you could probably swap over the senders.

The sender is the electrical part that is moved by the float (the black piece of plastic on the end of the wire in your photo from mister-auto).

If you don't have a clue what you're doing it's probably better not go at it yourself. Cheapest option is probably pick up a pump from a Fiat from a Breakers and get your mechanic to swap the senders. If you're considering a refund from mister- auto you will be without a car for a while as you will have to return the pump to get a refund/replacement.

update: I just went to pick my wife up and she gaugh was going up and down like a geiger counter loking for radiation  :P and at the points it settled at the top (where it should be) i could see that i had used a small amount of the petrol in used. whats that about?

It's a 99% certainty it's the sender that's giving trouble. As you don't seem to know anything about how it works get back to a mechanic if you want it fixed.
Otherwise keep driving away but just top up the tank every 150 miles or so.
