    Hey Folks,

Proud owner of two bikes at this stage, a Giant Brass 2 and a 2011 Cube Acid. The Acid was bought in 2010 on the cycle to work scheme so I think I'm eligible for another bike this year. As I have 1.5 mountain bikes I was thinking this year I'd get a road bike. As I'm very happy with the Acid I'd like to go with another Cube and was thinking about these:

This is the bike I'm most heavily leaning towards simply because of the stopping power that the discs provide. I don't get into all the gear when I head out on my bike, it's always a casual affair even if I head off on a long cycle so aesthetics don't matter that much to me.

    More standard.

I know there's roughly 1.5kg difference between the first bike and these but does that make much of a difference? I'm not exactly lightweight and am carrying a lot of extra baggage around!

I have the cube peloton race and I love it, cost the full €1000 on the Bike to work but the bang for buck is huge

Cable discs on a road bike are a bit crap, so I'd avoid the first one.

Ah many thanks Lumen, I didn't realise they were cable operated so that's that one out the window. I can probably up the budget a little and include the below in my options:

+1 love it, use it to commute and for longer spins.
