I collected mine this evening with no hassles. Unsure if I am keeping it though as I was recently really after a Forerunner and just saw the bargain today and nabbed it quickly. If i sell it on it would be for the price i paid for it, no messing or scalping just need to sleep on it first. Else i will take it back for a refund and one will be available in store again unopened.

By the way, you can't use the Axa discount on it for an extra 10% as it is already discounted by 15%.

Lastest tests i read on pedometers/HRMs show they are and have been way off. Waste of time.

Phones (decent ones) incidentialy are more reliable for the features they cover.

This watch has GPS so instead of having to count steps and estimate distance it gives an accurate value for distance. It also is able to build a profile of your stride length from your outdoor running and do a reasonable approximation when on a treadmill. The HRM is not included but the watch will work with any BT chest worn Heart Strap, chest straps are 100% accurate, unlike the optical sensors used on some smart/sport watches such as the Fitbit Charge HR and the newly released Apple Watch which use lights to measure pulse in the wrist area. HR data is only useful if its accurate and as such chest straps are the only way to go.

This is a very decent Athlete's watch and is much much better than your Smartphone at this sort of thing if you are serious about your, running, cycling etc. A phone is expensive will smash if dropped or you crash, has a finite battery life, is not waterproof, as well as being heavy and awkward to carry.

i went to collect one of these which i had reserved and which was due into carrickmines yesterday. No sign of it and when they followed it up with the web team today they didn't seem to be expecting any in. Did anyone actually mange to get one??

Similiar situation in Navan. reserved it last week, the sent me out a reservation code, it was due to arrive yesterday but hadn't. I called again this afternoon and it still hadn't arrived. The guy on the phone said try again tomorrow....losing hope at this point.

In carrickmines today , the guy said that over 5000 orders where received and they had no stock. Only 3 orders made it to carrickmines and they contacted the people to say that they had no stock . The web team were meant to cancel and contact all the others.

It'll be interesting to see if stock appears next week

Similar here. Called into coolock as per the time they said. No stock and said they expected it in but never arrived. Took my details and said they'd call when it arrived, expected today no call and I'm sceptical. One of those too good to be true deals I'd say. Would have appreciated and email at least

Went in to collect it in Carrickmines to hear them say it wasn't in yet and I would get a call when in. Got a call yesterday to say there was an error online and more orders went through to site than the stock they had. Was kind enough to offer me the 15% off any other model similar. Went on site, all TomTom watches are gone :-( Maybe not so kind!

Slightly off topic , can anyone recommend a reasonably priced sportswatch for tracking my distance run ?
I cant afford to be spending huge amount of cash on a a gadget, would like to buy something half decent for my wrist when running.
I can use a phone app but don't like having the phone on me when running.

Happy days. Got a call today from Halfords Dundalk, they have my watch. Had resevered it last week and lost hope as it was to be collected by Paddys Day. Still only paid the 76€ earlier.
