Flights wise I always find that flights to Brussels are dirt cheap. There is a big push from Ryanair on Cologne at the moment too, I've seen return tickets for €40 for both quite regularly.

To get more advice you probably should provide a little more info on what you are looking for.

I have no restrictions on what to see. I'm over here for a year and just want to make the most of my time and see everything I can while not spending a boat load!

Cool, when you say cheap what do you consider cheap?

I always use Skyscanner when checking for flights, there is an option to check flights from Dublin to Everywhere. It's a pretty addictive feature.

I'll have to look into that! Soon I'll have Thursday-Sundays off so I was looking into doing some long weekend trips here and there

Do you mean within Ireland or outside Ireland?

If it's the latter Skyscanner have an option for you to pick anywhere from Dublin on a given date.

If it's here, Cork and Galway tend to have cheap options for Bus travel as there are a number of competing services. Hiring a car off-peak is generally good value in Ireland or even hiring one of the Go Cars (though check km costs) might make sense. Given the size of the country you could get anywhere in less than 5 hours.

Awesome, thanks for the tips! I'll look into trip both within and out of the country.
