As the title says really, I’m at the planning stage of a 2900sqft dormer and looking at my heating. I would like to incorporate oil, solid fuel stove and solar into my heating but I am not sure of the most efficient way to do this.
I have put a drawing below of what i believe could be a solution, any opinions? I’m meeting my plumber next week but looking for a bit of a head start before i speak to him
    thanks

Roughly speaking yes it can be done. Your drawing is way off and dangerous. I know it's a rough sketch but make sure it's not done that way! Get advise from your plumber

    Way too complicated.

Fit a large multi input buffer tank with integral dhw coil and appropriate expansion and safety valves etc.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Could you link a suitable tank been looking and not been able to find anything,

Could you expand on too complicated, in what way? I'm looking for the most effecient way to setup the hot water and heating so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    This is one possible way.http://www.dunsleyheat.co.uk/neutralizer.html
You can have something made up to your own requirements as it is just a box with inputs and outputs to balance the different systems. Dunsley will design the system for you.
If you can get a decent sized cylinder up above the stove you could run a gravity system from the stove and feed solar into here too. if the DHW system is pressurised you can have a heat exchanger to take off the hot water.
If you are going to run underfloor from this system you will need a large accumulator which will not go upstairs but you need a large solar input (how much solar/wood boiler are you planning?). Or just run the underfloor off the oil via a blending valve and then the stove will assist the boiler to heat the house.
You will need to know what the house heating requirement is and get someone in to design a system that will work efficiently. Money well spent. Someone to blame if it does not work well! You may also need to achieve code requirements.
Your diagrams are wrong so I strongly suggest you do get expert help.

I want to run the heating from my oil and solid fuel stove, with the solar only being added when hot water temperature is met so as the energy from the solar is put to use in the heating system rather than just going out the expansion, this is the reason i would like the solar in the heating system.
The diagram was not ment as a design but more as a tool to explain what i want to try to do(should have said this at the outset really).
