Rumours going around we might get a last minute Dublin show too. Would love to see them in a small venue though

They are playing Glasgow the night after though.. Not sure where they'd squeeze Dublin in, unless they came back over.

A Dublin gig would be good I probably wont be able to make it for Belfast

Muse are back! Today the band announced that their new studio album entitled 'Drones', will be released here in Ireland on June 5th. Not only that... But they will be playing The Ulster Hall in Belfast on March 15th (yes, this Sunday night!). There may also be a (short notice) Dublin show on the cards so stay tuned!!!

Weren't they the same people that said before christmas that a June Dublin muse gig would be announced soon?

I assume they are saying short notice Dublin show because of all the Muse advertisements around the 3Arena:

It's slap bang in the middle of Belfast. Lots of car parks not sure if they will be open Sunday night though. I usually park in the car park next to the hitlon hotel which is around 15 min walk from Ulster hall, and is open 24 hrs.

    Can't wait till Sunday now.

The streets behind the Ulster Hall offer free parking on Sunday.

Can't believe they are not playing Dublin!!!! I can't make Belfast.. Sob!!!!

Maybe they are holding off playing in Dublin until November? (they normally play in Nov in the Point.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,899 ✭✭✭grimm2005

Shame they aren't also doing an impromptu Dublin date but this seems to be purely a UK tour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 196 ✭✭EachSmallChime

I wonder what kind of show it will be?

They tend to go big budget with their stage set-up over the last few years. Cant imagine they'll be able to do much of that in the Ulster Hall

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,877 ✭✭✭purplecow1977

No tickets for me :-( Hoping there's another gig announced this year.

Look up their Japanese tour from a few years ago, just a stage with the lads. No razamataz or big show, they played a real mix of favourite s and obscure b sides, hopefully psycho tour will be the same.

    Perfect,

Although I do think they do the Razamataz quite well, i've really wanted to see them stripped back.

Always jealous of anyone who got to see them in the Olympia years ago around the time Absolution came out

I was there too and it was amazing, pity how their quality has deteriorated so rapidly.

Not arsed I'm missing out if this is the stuff they'll be playing

I kinda like that song actually.

Really like that on initial listening.

I really like the riff, vocals not so much. It has kinda grown on me though!

I think its a song that arose from a riff they've jammed for years at live shows.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,690 ✭✭✭✭siblers

Similar to the outro riff from Stockholm Syndrome

First time I've heard that song but its not bad! Much better then that muck Queen rip-off, 'Madness' or that awful Olympics track

I like the new tune, the vocals not so much but overall pretty decent.

There are plenty of free spaces on Adelaide Street. There will be a few spaces on the streets around the Ulster Hall and there's a multi-story very close too.

    Looking forward to it!

No photo passes allowed unfortunately :-(

There's a Park Inn across the road, or a holiday inn within a 30 second stroll away.

Yeah, Park Inn across the road, but there's loads of hotels within a 10 minute walking distance.

Cheers! I went with the Holiday Inn, worked out cheaper and has better reviews!

They've been playing the riff on that song for years, this is from 2004.

Personally I find the new song to be totally by the numbers. How the mighty have fallen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 186 ✭✭demixed

I actually prefer this to anything off the last few albums (lyrics are...questionable thou!)

I've a ticket going spare as well if anyone is stuck!

Way longer than that - first known performance is from 1999.
