What vans is Harris Selling?

Passed Harris's yesterday and he had the corner of the yard full of what looked like LDV vans but with an odd emblem on the bonnet. Anyone know what they are. Can't find anything on the net to tell me what they are.

that mad auld fella will sell anything he can get his hands on. He has a big sign on the side of one of the buildings advertising Ssangyong's as he's now the importer for ireland. I heard he was looking at Great Wall Motors aswell, so I'd imagine its somm chinese crap.

They're seriously cheap second hand. I know they're not exactly cutting edge but a lwb high roof would be good for a campervan conversion.

Interesting history to them too. The whole ldv thing is intriguing really

Yeah they've had more badges than a boy scout. Sherpa, Freight Rover, Leyland Daf, LDV, now Maxus.

Can parts be gotten for them? As said, they're seriously cheap (obviously for a reason).

A lot of the parts are shared with Ford, think daf lorry garages do the parts too.

they were supposed to be good vans the maxus its just couldnt compete with popularity of transit doubt if even harris can make them sell but wish him luck Its a fasinating private company harris's , wonder how hes doing with ssangyong ? not many here in cork .
i would imagine harris's need to fill their large site any way thy can , no longer importing iveco and isuzu and hino no longer dominate their sectors ( light trucks and construction sector)

To all you lovely people that "mad oulfella" as you have called him is laughing all the way to the bank, no matter what that man brings into the country, its all the small minded people like yourself that make the rest of us look bad, i doubt half the people commenting have ever even sat in a van never mind anything else, and just so its clear Mr Harris is still the main importer of BOTH Hino and Isuzu, and he doesnt need to buy just anything to fill his yard his name travels far and wide, so no matter what badges are put on these new vans, he has his name and thats all he needs

He moved in and said he was going to put Gilmores Mercedes business under..

THIS is what remains of his efforts, while this is Gilmores.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with him or his business.. just don't be making him out to be some sort of god in the business.. He makes mistakes too.

I've rarely seen a CN reg car not to mind a CN reg Mercedes.
He must be getting a lot of out of county business or seriously in debt to afford such a nice premises.

strange first post , are you one of the harris's ?

saw these vans over w end while passing (ldv.ie - launching april) they look well - have mercedes/ sprinter look in front ( new lights and grille) i wish him luck - he will need it getting plp to buy them instead of renault and ford . they look just as good if not better than competition ( no nice looking vans these days)

i admire pino but he would not be known for his way ( and hes a friend of bertie Aherns ) with people and find the company a enigma ( not a ltd one ! ) harris has made his money but he paid big money for the coca cola site in boom years and is stuck with it until things really pick up

he was supposed to set up business a few years ago - exporting irish trucks to india and refurbishing them there - sounded great idea but dont think t happened ?? his used stock used to resemble a scrap yard but it seems to have improved.

he lost kia about 10 years ago and iveco in recent years and would i be right in saying ssangyong are not doing well ? he should have known that people wont pay top money in this day and age for vehicles with poor interiors and driving manners

Lets get one thing straight, nobody is making him out to be a god but when you have sad people who have to come on to this to give there comments about something that has noting to do with them, the only reason i came on this is to let people no that Harris doesn't need any of you to get on in life or business.. as for your little story about kingscourt go back to your little life and don't be so concerned with someone else's. If no one commented on things that were nothing to do with them, there'd be very little said in any threads, just a load of family members bigging up their businesses.

To be fair he has a reputation for not being too well loved by a lot of his family so most people probably doubt you are one.

Queenbee, it is obvious you are fairly new to internet forums. You are making Harris look really bad here cause you are (and everyone assumes you are closely linked to him) coming across as arrogant and defensive for some reason. My advice is to stop immediately. When a guy has a business selling to the public the public has a right to discuss what he is selling.

It can be hard not to post and rant, but give it a try is will far less frustrating for you.
