Priced wayyyy too high. Her head is in the clouds.

I got a 2011 Panda around 6 months ago and no issues yet. Great little car. I was looking at older models but the newer models (same generation) have a better interior and some other changes.

OK, so it's old, but mileage is tiny at 16k. Don't think there are any 1.2s out there with such little mileage at that price.

I have seen better price ones on the market with about around 30-40k miles.

Good to know about the interior updates.

    Thanks

I had an 04 a few years ago. Great car for what it was. It will serve you well.

Panda are generally very reliable and good cars.
Probably not too comfortable for longer journeys and not the safest (just because they are small), but for town driving - perfect.

However the price seems to be way too high.
Mileage doesn't have that much effect on price. What mostly matters is just car age.
Mileage might do a small adjustment to price, but not that much.

In this case you are buying 11 year old car, with all the problems such old car can suffer.
Don't be thinking that it's nearly new just because it has 16k miles only. 16k miles in 11 year old car would be actually quite alarming for me as this could indicate car was very little used or not used at all for prelonged periods of times which couldn't do a car any good.

If car is in good condition - definitely take it, but don't pay extra for tiny mileage.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Worth about half of what she is looking for. And then only if indeed it has a full service history (that includes 10 oil + filter changes - one for every year), which I doubt it has. Off to the dreamers thread with this one!

Edit - google the owners name :D

Thanks everybody. Great to tap into the wisdom of boards.

I'm keen on the Panda as a car, but due to advice received here I'll give this one a miss.

    You can always try.
Tell you offer him 2k and that's a good price for 11 year old fiat.

If you meet with price at around 2200 that should be ok for both of you.
He won't get any better than this for the car.

Keep an eye on the bangernomics thread. '05 and even newer cars should be had for under €2k. Pay a friendly mechanic €50 to check a potential car thoroughly over and you're laughing if it works out :)

Yep, I'm a regular Bangernomics lurker.

Was thinking about buying the UK, but with Sterling/Euro as it is at the moment I've cooled on that one.

Yes, UK not a good place at the moment for buying with that sterling/euro rate.

Russia with they Rubel cheap as donuts - i'm sure you can pull a good bargain there now.

I looked around december and you could get brand new lada niva for around 3k euro. I'm not sure if that still applies.

I'd pay €2200 for that car. It would be €1900ish with normal mileage.
The 1.2 has good spec and is rare.

Make an offer on the red one posted, all they can say is no.
