    It's the opinions.

There has been cases in the past where posters raving/giving fantastic reviews about a company has turned out to be the company itself (posing as a punter)! It's also a form of advertising (indirectly).

    And

There has been cases in the past where posters dissing/giving bad reviews about a company has turned out to be a competitor company (posing as a punter of the company they are giving the bad review about)!

    And

Companies who get bad reviews (rightly or wrongly) on a public forum don't go after the poster. They send solicitors letters straight to Boards.ie

    So

Therefore, good, bad or indifferent reviews/opinions (especially of small companies) are not allowed.

I hope that explains the reasoning.
