Heading in a few weeks to Orlando. Anyone got any feedback for booking tee times? is it better to book plenty in advance of book on the day or day before on a website like http://www.teeoff.com/

Have identified Disney Magnolia and Orange County National and want to get the best possible rates.

    Thanks

No problem finding Courses out there to play. I used Tee times.com and got some great Deals. I'd book within the week of playing as that's usually when they put up their offers. You don't need to spend a fortune either.
The thing you'll notice is the pristine presentation of most of the courses. Easy I suppose with their weather.
I almost walked into an Alligator one day, Luckily my mate said he was an old guy and was just soaking up the Sunshine on the bank of a lake.

Loads of choices in or around Orlando.
I've played Orange County National a few times, they're really good to deal with and you might even gat a rate by ringing them direct. Two seriously good courses. Last time I was there, we had played one of the courses and, while sitting in the bar after, got a deal to play the other course two days later for something crazy like $29 each (incl buggy).

Magnolia is very expensive, but is an amazing course. I've no idea about bookings there, we played it as part of a package holiday.

But, you're really spoilt for choice, especially if you drive maybe half an hour from, say, International Drive, some great value. Check out Legends, Providence, Bella Collina (a little further away) or the courses in Orange Lake - Orange Lake Reserve and Orange Lake Legends.

Lucky to have been to Orlando area many times, already have the Summer hols booked for July but as a regular golfer at home I avoid golfing on hols with the family and even though they'd be fine with me peeling off for a game I just think that's a time when we need to be together, especially now they're getting older.
Even turned down a game with kind Golf Graffix but as it turned out we went snorkel diving with manatees in springs that day and had a great time.
Golfing in Florida is a dream, some day it will happen for me...does hurt driving by some of the courses already mentioned on this thread, just keep my eyes fixed firmly ahead...

Looking at the Championship from Dorals blue monster last weekend reminded me of the time I played it a number of years ago. A nice course but never worth the 300$ a round it cost back then. The particular day turned out to be too hot and we nearly walked off after playing 13 holes as Temperatures soared beyond 100 degrees, but decided to play on and see it out.
My lasting great memory of it is parring the 18th.

I go to Orlando twice a year -- You wont struggle to book times on the course websites directly.... ENJOY !!!!

Thanks for all the insight. So it seems the best strategy is play it by ear. Keep and eye on teeoff.com but also don't be afraid to ring the courses direct. We will def hit up Orange County National. Haven't heard a bad word about it on boards. We have the flexibility is well as we will have cars and staying in the Davenport area. We are willing to pay say $80 for round, cart and club rental, so im sure we will manage to find something decent with that.

Enjoy, I drive into Orange County once, if memory serves it has a huge circular driving range, Davenport a nice area, I stay just up the road off 27/192 in Linfields
