Right, so my parents are getting a new car and want to trade in my car to complete the deal. My car is going for scrappage. Now the thing is my cars tax is out of date as I haven't been using it. Can they still take my car as a trade in for scrappage or will I need to bring the tax up to date before it can be scrapped ?

It really depends on the specific terms and condition of the scrappage offer.

Thee is no official scrappage, it's entirely up to the dealer if they will accept it with tax or not. I know with Toyota's €3k offer the car must be taxed and NCT'd.
