    Hi,
Have to get rid of my VW Touareg (costing too much) and I've have it down to either an 07 VW Caddy or an 07 Suzuki Grand Vitara. I know VW have a good reputation but I'm not sure about Suzuki's Can anyone assist along the lines of reliability etc?
    Cheers

It's unusual to narrow down to two vehicles in different classes.

If you don't need the 4wd capability then why is the vitara in contention ??

I you don't plan on heavy towing or going off road then I'd opt for the caddy.

Now, after all that I myself run an xtrail. I do some off road work on the farm and trailer work but primary reason for me was upright seated position for my back.

I've always had a 4x4 as I do a lot of fishing/hunting etc but it's hard to get one that is cheapish to tax so started looking at the caddy's but in my local dealer there is a Grand Vitara and it has 4x4 (plus I can bring the son if needs be) and looks ok but I'm unsure of the reliability

I know two lads with them. Reliability hasn't been an issue. One needed DPF work, think it was replaced, but it would be doing lots of short hop drives which are bad for all DPFs. <35 mpg seems normal.

I've been told that te clutch doesn't like much trailer work, but that can depend on driving style too.

I opted for the xtrail both on preference for the look and bit more mpg.

My cousin who farms full time has a caddy and is delighted with it.
