Perhaps the contact for the"up"switch is corroded or damaged. When you litres the up button can you get the motor running?

Dead as a door nail. Dealer disconnected it. So no one could put it down. Would like to give a go and try fix it

Sorry that should have read when you press the up button can you hear the motor running.

Did the dealer suggest a problem? I would try plugging it back in. With the door card off, bring the window down then press the up button. If the regulator makes no noise then have s look at the button itself. Clean the contacts with emery paper. If the button still doesn't work, try switching with the opposite side button.

If it still doesn't work, assuming the opposite button works in its original location, you can rule out that as the problem.

You are then looking at wiring and regulator. A multi metre would be handy here to check for continuity, voltage etc

Id put money on the switch. The Opel switches always seem to play up like that. Ive fixed more than a few by simply opening the switch and cleaning the contacts.
Did the dealer not offer you a fix?
