    Live on Sky.

A great chance for a third win on the bounce at Old Trafford. Evans and di Maria suspended for them. Even a draw here would keep us in touch with them but the three points would be sweet, and keep the pressure on Liverpool and Arsenal.

    Lloris
    Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose
    Mason, Bentaleb
    Townsend, Eriksen, Chadli
    Kane

    2-1 to Spurs, Kane (2).

A draw at the very least, but since we've had a week off, no injuries to contend with (which is amazing - fitness & medical staff deserve a pay increase), won our last two, you've gotta be thinking...all three points.

The best I've seen Utd play this season was at WHL, they battered us in the 1st half particularly.

Defensively they look worse than us, De Gea has been just as important as Lloris has been for us.

Since Ferguson has left, teams seem to get a fairer crack. Ref's don't seem to bottle it. I fancy our chances once are defense doesn't go walkies.

I think if we get the "up for it" Spurs team that we have seen in some of the key games, we will win this.

The big pitch in Old Trafford should suit our style.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

I also reckon we have a great chance of winning it - no injuries (not even one) which is unheard of at white hart lane. I reckon this is more down to the young squad we have rather than any miracles from the medical staff)

Id be happy with a draw but we can win this one!

I'd be delighted with a draw to be honest. it was mentioned in the other thread but utd have a very very hard run of games coming up so if we don't loose ground on them I'd be fairly confident that we can overtake them.

Winning of course would be massive.

I have a funny feeling Townsend could be key in this game...

We should be going for the win in this. Their defense is as bad as ours, so Eriksen and Kane should have some fun. I'd also play Townsend, as his pace would cause serious issues for them.

I agree with ya on the medical staff, It has been a very good season injury wise, considering all the games played.

I think the United game is hard to call, very open and really down to who converts the chances. Man U will come at us being at home and Rooney is in fine form. Then again we have a Striker in great form so am expecting a nail biter, over four goals and very close. With defenders attention on Kane I predict Mason or Benteleb to score the winner 2-3.

That finished 1-1. Victor Valdes, Rafael, Falcao and James Wilson all started for them. McEvoy scored our goal, Rafael for them.

Feels odd to be rolling up to OT and almost expecting a win. Doesn't suit us. Would prefer if we were more an underdog.

Ara no, shur what we fans think doesn't really matter. No harm if the team goes there with a bit of confidence either as long as their not over-confident, which I doubt.

We've beaten them the last two games at Old Trafford, hat trick of wins could be on the cards if we show the form we did against Arsenal and Chelsea at home,Sunday will be some day if we win this.

Whenever i think we'll do well we lose and whenever i think we'll lose we do well

Unfortunately, i think we'll do well so that's a bad thing because subconsciously that's a sign of us losing.

Mauricio Pochettino claims Danny Rose is England's best left-back – and should be in Roy Hodgson's squad to face Lithuania and Italy.

This is a big game today for both United and Spurs. We all want a win but I think a draw would be a good result at OT. Still hoping to win it obviously.

1-2 and the 3 points to Spurs.

    Team news is out

    No surprises. Looks fairly balanced.

    Townsend keeps his place.

Lloris, Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose; Bentaleb, Mason; Chadli, Eriksen, Townsend; Kane

No Soldado on bench (Adebayor) - is there an injury?

Adebayor scored last year...maybe they plan to spring him at 70mins for yet another redemption shot

Need to get to halftime without conceding anymore, finding it hard to string a couple of passes together. Absolutely dominated.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,072 ✭✭✭mass_debater

They're targeting the right and Townsend offering no support to Walker

Carrick header, that sums up spurs

    Lose today and fourth over,

Long 45 minutes to come. Looks like having the week to recover has had the opposite effect. Surely they can't play as bad as that in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,448 ✭✭✭Charliebull

Suppose are we actually surprised , it's typical spurs, always the laughing stock

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

    Such an embarrassing performance

What is wrong with bentaleb ? Just passes to his right without ever looking and gives it straight to Rooney . Did it at least 3 times against liverpool - is he brain dead ?

Dier for Rooneys goal was comical - a kid playing a mans game. He also didn't bother jump against Fellani for the second goal

I won't give out about anyone in particular today...because they've all been absolutely ****. Not a single good performance from anyone today, and it's one of the worst games I've seen us play in a long time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭KingdomYid

Fcuk off Spurs, did not even give it a go today. Time for their summer holidays, they should hand back their wages this week.

Thank God I went to the hurling match today and missed this pile of shyte.

Bad day but fcuk it I was delighted to see Kane still trying and tackling up to the last. Its a young team and these things happen, don't expect anyone to be happy, can understand people being pizzed off, me too. Ya start to get a bit of hope and then this.

I'm still looking forward to next season.

This time next year we'l all be millionaire's.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,072 ✭✭✭mass_debater

You're going to get inconsistencies with young inexperienced players, chin up, we've a lot to look forward to next year if we can offload some crap and build on what we've got

  • This was excruciating....moreover because my brother is a Man U supporter. Thankfully it was only 3-0 because it looked like we were going to get a drubbing at one point. Don't know if that's to do with us improving (and the tactical switch of Dembele for Townsend) or that United were conserving energy for future games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,108 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

There was something very 'AVB' about that performance ... totally swept aside in the first 30 mins. No fight. Clueless. Gutless.

The players had two days off to rest this week, no Europa league excuses either.

They are on holidays. Nothing left to play for. Four or five of them will be / should be gone come the end of the summer. It's over guys. Our season ended somewhere in the previous weeks.

See ya next season hopefully without lamela , Soldado and a few other donkeys.

At least your other team had a good win.
That was listless today as poor as we have been for some time. Most teams would have beaten us today so I wouldn't read anything into utd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,337 ✭✭✭positivenote

anyone surprised isnt really a spurs fan to be honest... after 30 years of this they never fail to disappoint, just when you get some hope. Kind of agree that they are were on holiday mode. But lets see Poch earn his sheckles and put it to them allthat he'll have money to spend this summer and they should prove they want to hang around.
new full backs, striker and an experienced center half will do... unless Hugo goes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,747 ✭✭✭irishmover

I'm not surprised with the result at all. I was a little apprehensive when I read the first couple of pages on here the other day.

I've stopped being confident of beating man united a long time ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,108 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

4 or 5 ... more like 7 or 8 need to go. But sure how many seasons have we been saying that for now and they are still there...
Nothing much will change.. One or two will drift off but we'll still carry more crap into next season and we won't buy what we really really need ... Full backs, proper wingers and 2 strikers.

Ya lets get seven or eight, shur that works straight away every time.

When we have a couple of wins we get a little excited and overly hopeful, we all do it, its human.

Then when that hope is not realised we get angry and despondent.

One of the thirty eight battles was lost, maybe we expected too much? Maybe it was just another one of them days. City lost at Burnley yesterday.

Mamma said there'd be days like this.
