htc one m7 camera

I just got a second hand HTC one m7 and I really like the phone. I'm having issues with the camera though. When I take a picture of myself or friends (especially outdoors with sunlight on the face) any patch of redness or tiny red spots show up really clear. A slight red tint seems to be overexaggarated in the picture. I thought maybe I just have bad skin, but it seems to happen to everyone I take a picture of. Now I know I'm a pasty Irish fella so red cheeks is nothing new but I never have seen anything like this camera to highlight your flaws. Any one have similar issues?

The tint is a very well known issue with this model.

Are you referring to the purple tint on the camera?

My issue is the colour and how vivid red is. When I watch a video on the laptop or look at a picture its normal but when I do the same on my htc one then red cheeks, pimples basically any flaw or patch of redness is unbelievably exaggerated. I just watched the trailer for Kurt Cobain montage of heck and on the phone every flaw or redness on peoples faces was extremely noticeable. Switched to the laptop and no problem with colour.
