Have a field where the rushes were licked and topped last year. They are starting to show again now was going to spray in April but Don't plan feeding the field just close off for silage. Question is will these rushes be ok if left in the silage?

I find they add extra bulk if selling.

OP maybe best doing a soil test.
Reason I say this, I've noticed dry ground starting to show Rush, but the soil test has shown it needs lots of lime. Which will be put out after the silage is cut.
As others have said in other threads it could be best to sort out the ph, P & K which could solve the rush issue

I actually do, in a bit of a dilemma this year as another lad wants few fields off me. Good thing is he got it before and pays next day. Other fella doesn't pay until sfp is out which is a pain.

I have no experience of doing them this early but I'd chance it if the weather was good , if the fukcers can grow now surely they can take a killing now
