Friend of mine has one of the old combined gas fire/ CH boiler in the fireplace kits.

Gas boiler has given up the ghost so the proposal is to locate the new boiler in the attic.
The Board Gais recommended RGII installer has no issue with this.
Attic is floored but accessed via Stira or similar.

    Any pros/cons for this proposal?

The friend lives on her own and is not in the best of health, mid 60's so my intuition is that its the wrong location.
    Thanks

If it plumbed correctly there should be no issue. Allowances for possible airlocks should be considered when installing

Another thing to take into account is that there are a lot of people on prepay meters and if that's the case they usually run out of credit from time to time then the boiler would have to be manually reset at the boiler
