Photobook recommendations

I'm planning to decommission a five year old photography blog but before I do that, I would like to convert it into a book.

I've done books with Photobox and Blurb before. Wasn't massively impressed by the Blurb one and the Photobox ones were okay but the software irritated me a bit. The core focus of the book will be the photographs so I need decent printing.

What services are people using these days?

for quality , i see nothing wrong with Blurb, but you have to use the high quality (expensive) paper.

My biggest problem with Blurb is the cost , fine for one or 2 copies , but for quantity , very expensive , with all the proceeds going to Blurb themselves.
Not sure if this is helpful.

I have a copy of Sinead's VET one from blurb and the quality is excellent. Check with her but I'm sure she went for the best paper quality, etc.

I did a bit of research on this last year, ahead of doing my first photobook. In terms of what I found out then, mypublisher seemed to offer the best quality of the main consumer market. I went with mypublisher in the end, and went for the highest quality paper / binding and the output was outstanding and seems to be better than what i have been able to compare physically (managed to rifle through a few blurb / photo box books). Doing another photobook at the moment and will go with them again.

That said - the mypublisher software was v basic - and blurbs' was a good deal better.

They key thing to pay attention to is the binding - glued binding tends not to last v long after heavy use...

I used Photobox before and I wasn't keen on the way they glue prints back to back. It made the pages very stiff. A bit pricey too I thought. Software was okish.

I've used Blurb in the past, and was very happy. (think i went for the quality paper from memory, and I was in Australia, so presumably it was printed over there somewhere.)

I'm trying out Photobox at the moment, but am having problems with the software. And it is expensive, unless you have a special deal/voucher.

I have used photobox in the past but never without a code, although if you sign up for their mail list I don't think you will be ever without a code for something, but their software is fiddly and time consuming. One thing I do like about blurb is that I can use Lightroom to create the book.

I used photobox and did not have too many issues with their software. However, the purpose for which I used it was very different to what I want to do with the photographs to go in to this.

I have used blurb in the past and while I can't remember my exact decisions on the paper front, the truth is there were odd colour costs, particularly on the cover. I wasn't happy.

They must have improved a lot?
