I work for a major IT company. I found out that the project I am working on is to be moved to a low cost location.
2000 people in Europe will be let go by End of April as jobs are moved to low cost countries like Bulgaria and India. I fear my name is on that list.
There was an offer of voluntary redundancy announced last week for UK&I employees. In the same email, they stated if there was not enough take up, the would inform people of compulsary redundancy on 30th March.
After 14 years in ITIL Service Management, I fear my time is up. What do you do in this situation? Am only 44, so I guess I could start over again. It's just very hard to motivate yourself under this pressure.

Sorry to hear this OP. With 14 years ITIL experience though, I doubt you will have any problem finding another job. Take the redundancy and get your CV out there. Luckily the IT sector is booming.

Agree with this if you've that much experience and ITIL certification you'll be no time finding a new role.

20 former colleagues of mine go the same news yesterday all their roles are being outsourced to Hungary and India, they are all contractors though so no redundancy for them!
