I assume this is just for one free ride and not for €25 worth of free rides?

Not so great if your journey is normally only €12 or so.

    Still a free journey though?

Cheers OP, code worked for me. (It's new users only as said above)

Go the long way, stop at the shop and make the taxi wait, get the driver to follow someone for the craic and jump out at €25 or be happy with the free trip?

I've had Uber for ages and the code worked, but have never used Uber.

If you haven't used any promotional codes with Uber before, the code will work.

Anyone know what the t&c's of this are? If the journey is over €25 do you just pay the difference?

    Thanks OP, worked perfect!

I signed up with the missus yesterday. Got an S class merc in last night, but only a Chrysler 300C on the way home. Still, you can't beat free stuff. Nice one OP.

Oh can this code be used for Uber Black (limos) as well as Uber X (taxis)?

That might be a better way to get the full value out of the €25, spoil the girlfriend with a flash limo :)

Indeed it can. My limo came to 24.40. Nice to have a bit of free luxury.

Only Hailo is in Carlow, alas time to go to Dublin for a bit!

What's the availability of Uber cars like - will I be able to get a car to come to Johnny Foxes on a Saturday night to bring me home?

I'm interested in finding out about availability too. How easy is to get a taxi to the airport in the middle of the night. Usually with Hailo, there are none around in the suburbs after 2am?

Its unlikely. The drivers are encouraged to stay within a certain radius within Dublin city.

I've struggled to get an UberX outside of the city centre on many occasions

For Johnny Foxes you'll have to go old fashioned and book a local taxi. Then can do it for you in the pub or give you the number of a local driver.

Also I think they have a bus that takes people back to The city at closing time.

Is this just for Dublin guys?

Thanks for the updates, strange if Uber drivers are really just taxi drivers, as it's not hard to get a taxi to come up.

Yeah but you need to order through the app. It's not like you can call up Uber. If you open it up at Johnny Foxes and there's nothing showing up on the map you won't get one to come up.

Beautiful, that's the taxi from the airport sorted. Is there much of a difference in price between Uberx and Uberblack?

You need to log into the website to see the promo codes added to your account. It's a bit weird you have to do that. As far as i remember after you select your pickup location the next screen allows you to select your payment type. Any credits should be available there.

There is a fare calculator on the uber website that will show you the difference in price. UberBlack is usually almost twice as expensive as a taxi.

Also remember that UberBlack are limos, not taxis, so they can't use the bus lanes. I wouldn't use it at peak time if in a rush.

Thanks OP. Got a free trip from Portmarnock to Swords in the back of a lovely 7 series bmw last night (Uberblack) Fare was €25 which is roughly what a regular taxi would be but was free thanks to this BA.

I've just done a quick google search on Uber and what's its all about, and to see if I could get €25 off too but in Galway.

I came an Irish independent piece from last August, and so far it seems as if its a Dublin thing.

Used it last night from City Centre to Saggart, usually costs around €30, the €25 credit covered it though, delighted.
