Looking for advice on upgrading Water Cylinder

Hi folks, as the title says I'm looking for advice on upgrading the water cylinder.
And I know nothing about this sorta thing so don't use too many big words please :)

We are going to get an extension done and I'm looking for a few opinions on what sort of water tank we'll need.

We are a family of two adults and two small kids living in a bungalow using oil fired central heating and a stove with a back boiler to heat the rads/water. We have our weekly wash in an electric shower in the ensuite and never use the bath.
During the winter we have hot water in the evening to wash the dishes and will get luke warm water during the day from the hot taps, as the tank is a 20 years copper one with a lagging jacket on. During the summer we boil a kettle or two do do the dishes.

The plan is to convert the attic and put a pump shower up there, remove the bath and put another pump shower there and leave power shower in the ensuite. During the summer we'd like to put the the water on a timer so it heats up for an hour or so in the morning and use that so we can have wash, do dishes and whatnot. During the winter hopefully the water will remain hot from the stove to last all day

How efficient are these new-fangled factory insulated cylinders? Will they meet our needs? What type/size should we be looking for? Or is there any other options that we should be looking at (on a fairly tight budget)?

    Thanks
    John
