I have Kitchen pull out Larder Unit. This is a fairly large unit with five baskets. This unit sticks as is it pulled out ,the bottom runner being the problem.I have taken it apart and the are Three or Four pairs of wheels on this runner. There appears to be a lot of play in the middle set of wheels and I think this is the problem as I can see nothing else that could be wrong.I wonder can any type of repairs be done but I think it might be difficult to fit the wheels if they can be got.The wheels are plastic and are 30mmX8mm.I have looked everywhere for a name on the Unit but cant find any.Any help would be appreciated.

Take a look at the Hafele website you may find a replacement mechanism

Try Noyeks they sell those type of units and maybe also supply spares.

Thanks for the replies. There is one on the Hafel site and I contacted them. They are in the region of €100 and there are may different types.A full Larder Unit would not cost much dearer than that.I was hoping that I could repair the Old one.

Is it just some plastic wheels gone bad? You might have a look on Youtube for videos of recycling HDPE (plastic milk cartons and caps, coke flagon caps) There's 1 vid there of someone making a catapult frame, another making a pulley for a motor. You can soften in an oven or sandwich toaster, with no risk of fumes. When its in a sheet say 15-20mm thick its very rigid, more so than you might think from handling a milk carton. You can saw/drill/plane/turn it.

I'd say there are easier solutions here that won't cost a fortune.

OP, post a pic of the offending part!

Its hard to take a photo where it is but its the same as this one here;http://www.hafele.ie/HIRcat/Templates/Hafele/Products.asp?param=7355&ig_id=69389.This unit is made from heavy steel and the wheels are held in by steel which appears to be pressed into the frame.I dont know if there there would be enough clearance for bolts etc.to attach new wheels. Its easy enough to take the sections of the runners apart.

Those bearings are usually held in place with a substantial rivet. I'm not sure if getting it off would do more harm than good.
