I know it's probably been discussed here many times but I need some advice. Just bought a 1970s bungalow and I am def getting the attic insulated. I am unsure on whether or not to get the cavity walls pumped. i am unsure because I have read that it can lead to condensation pronlems on the house because moisture can't escape. My question is do people recommend getting the walls pumped and also has anyone had problems once it's done. Cheers

    How is the house ventilated?

I would always recommend getting the cavities pumped. There are many products certified for pumping cavities and I have never heard of any problems. Cavities generally do not need to be ventilated so issues with condensation are not related. Pumping cavities would actually reduce risk of condensation on walls as it effectively increases the surface temperature of the internal face of the walls. Condensation may appear in other places after insulating( such as windows) if there is insufficient ventilation in the house particularly in bathrooms and kitchen. There is an SEAI grant available for insulation and heating upgrade works

According to the BER report the house has natural ventilation.
